ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Lions OT Tyrell Crosby appears to be on the trading block.
Crosby was an 11-game starter last season, but that is out the window for 2021 with Penei Sewell joining Taylor Decker along the Lions’ front. Going on 26, Crosby is a decent player who has taken on a bigger role each year since arriving as the No. 153 overall pick in 2018. Young(ish) tackles with starting experience will always draw a looksee if available.

  • Lions RT Tyrell Crosby (ankle) is out for Week 14 against the Packers.
Crosby is a starter that’s played every game this season. It’s yet another injury for the Lions, who are missing Kenny Golladay, Desmond Trufant, Jeff Okudah, Danny Shelton, and possibly D’Andre Swift this week.

  • Lions RT Rick Wagner left Sunday’s Week 10 game against the Bears with a concussion and will not return.
Wagner was carted off following a collision with Bears LB Nick Kwiatkoski early in the second quarter. Tyrell Crosby is in at right tackle for Detroit.
  • DET Tackle #68
Lions LT Taylor Decker (questionable, back) is not expected to play Week 2 against the Chargers.
He saw limited work at practice this week but it clearly wasn’t enough to prepare him for the Lions’ home opener. Decker had a miserable game in Arizona a week ago, committing four penalties while also yielding a pair of sacks. Second-round rookie Tyrell Crosby is expected to spell him at left tackle when the Bolts visit in Week 2.
  • Lions selected Oregon OT Tyrell Crosby with the No. 153 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
Crosby (6’5/309) made 17 starts at left tackle and 19 at right tackle for the Ducks, rebounding from an injury-ruined junior year to earn the Morris Trophy as the Pac 12’s Offensive Lineman of the Year as a senior, allowing zero quarterback hits. Only a 28th-percentile SPARQ athlete but able to win with long arms (35") and drive-blocking power, Crosby offers upside as a right tackle or guard prospect.
  • Lions signed fifth-round OT Tyrell Crosby to a four-year contract.
Crosby was talked about as a possible Day 1 or 2 pick leading up to the draft, but he slipped due to what is believed to be concussion issues. He’s also not a great athlete, relatively speaking, though Crosby does have 36 games of starting experience and was the Pac 12 Lineman of the Year in 2017. Crosby should be the Lions’ swing tackle as a rookie with a chance to start down the line.
