Ziaire Williams (knee) and Reece Beekman (calf) have been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Knicks.
Jalen Wilson will likely notch another start with Williams out of commission. Tyson Etienne is the prime candidate to fill in as the Nets’ starting point guard.

D’Angelo Russell (ankle) has been ruled out against the Knicks on Sunday.
Russell will miss a fifth-straight game to close out the season for Brooklyn. Reece Beekman (calf) and Tyson Etienne are both candidates to play significant roles for the shorthanded Nets.
  • BKN Small Forward #8
Ziaire Williams (knee) and Reece Beekman (calf) are questionable to play against the Knicks on Sunday.
Williams missed Friday’s game against Minnesota, which allowed Jalen Wilson to start. He should remain in that role if Williams remains out. Beekman has been starting at point guard and should continue to do so if he plays. If he’s unavailable, Tyson Etienne is a candidate to move into the starting unit.
  • BKN Point Guard #1
D’Angelo Russell (ankle) is out against the Timberwolves on Friday.
Russell will not travel with the team for Friday’s game. Reece Beekman should remain in the starting lineup, with Tyson Etienne playing rotation minutes off the bench. And that may be Brooklyn’s point guard rotation for Sunday’s finale against the Knicks, as Russell has only appeared in eight games since March 13.
  • BKN Point Guard #10
Tyson Etienne recorded 16 points (5-of-14 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound, two assists, one steal and four three-pointers in 30 minutes in Thursday’s loss to the Hawks.
Signed to a two-way contract in early March, these games with little meaning to the standings are vital for Etienne. He was productive on Thursday, notching a career-high 16 points and four three-pointers. That isn’t enough to make Etienne a player worth adding for the weekend. However, with D’Angelo Russell out for Friday’s game against Minnesota, Etienne will remain in the Nets’ rotation.
  • BKN Shooting Guard #25
Nets signed Tyson Etienne to a two-way contract.
Etienne has been playing with Brooklyn’s G-League affiliate in Long Island and has earned a two-way spot from the club. He has yet to make an NBA appearance since going undrafted in 2022 but could play a role during “silly season.”
  • BKN Guard #10
The Hawks have waived SG Tyson Etienne.
He scored 21 points in a Summer League game and will now try to catch on with another team or the G-League.
  • BKN Guard #10
Tyson Etienne shot 8-of-15 from the field in Thursday’s 87-86 win over the Spurs, scoring 21 points with two rebounds, two steals, and five 3-pointers in 22 minutes.
The Hawks trailed by as much as 15 late in the third quarter, but they won primarily due to Etienne. The undrafted rookie out of Wichita State hit five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter alone, and his driving layup with 14.3 seconds remaining proved to be the difference. Etienne’s already signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Hawks so that he will be in training camp with the team.
