Colts promoted LB Daniel Adongo and OT Xavier Nixon from the practice squad.
A native of Kenya, Adongo is an ex-rugby player from South Africa who had no prior football experience before reporting to Colts camp. Obviously, his snaps are going to be extremely limited if he lasts on the active roster, but he’s an interesting prospect. Adongo’s contributions should be limited to special teams if he’s active for Week 14.
  • FA Tackle #79
Colts activated OT Xavier Nixon (knee) from injured reserve/designated to return.
The Colts opted to use their I.R./return spot on Nixon before Week 1 even though he made only four appearances as an undrafted rookie in 2013. He’ll provide depth behind Anthony Castonzo and Gosder Cherilus, but could remain behind Joe Reitz on the depth chart.
  • FA Tackle #79
Colts placed OT Xavier Nixon (knee) on injured reserve/designated to return.
A second-year undrafted free agent out of Florida, Nixon will be first eligible to return in Week 9. It’s quite possible he ends up spending the entire season on I.R./return. His activation will depend on the Colts’ needs at tackle.
  • FA Tackle #79
Redskins claimed OT Xavier Nixon off waivers from the Colts.
Nixon spent the majority of 2014 on I.R. with a knee injury. He returned to play in the final four games, including a Week 16 start against Dallas. Nixon will give Washington depth at both tackle spots.
