Saints selected Syracuse OG Andrew Tiller with the No. 179 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
Fairly unknown outside of NFL circles, Tiller is a massive blocker but only completed 16 bench press reps and a 5.50 forty. Chosen as a first-team all-conference selection by conference coaches, Tiller started 25 of 35 career games. He is a backup lineman at the next level.
  • FA Guard #66
Saints rookie OG Andrew Tiller underwent surgery Friday to repair a torn triceps muscle.
Tiller’s agent acknowledged that his client is headed to injured reserve. (Tiller, officially, will be waived/injured.) A sixth-round pick out of Syracuse, Tiller was going to be on the roster bubble this preseason regardless.
  • FA Guard #66
Saints agreed to terms with sixth-round G Andrew Tiller on four-year contract.
An All-Big East selection, Tiller measures in at a prototypical 6-foot-4, 324 pounds, but showed both below average strength and athleticism at the Combine. Even with the Saints relatively thin at guard, Tiller won’t be assured of cracking the 53-man roster without a strong camp.
  • FA Guard #66
The San Jose Mercury News reports RG Andrew Tiller is expected to start Week 1.
There are conflicting reports on whether Anthony Davis is considering retirement, but his status is doubtful for Monday night. If Davis doesn’t play, Tiller will get the start over rookie Josh Garnett.
  • FA Guard #63
The Bay Area New Group reports the 49ers are benching RG Andrew Tiller for first-rounder Josh Garnett.
Tiller has been replacement level opposite Zane Beadles. He was supposed to get pushed by Anthony Davis before Davis retired for the second time. Garnett has played only 18 snaps, all 18 of which came in Week 5. With their season already lost, it’s time for the 49ers to see what they have in Garnett.
  • FA Guard #66
Chiefs signed OG Andrew Tiller, formerly of the 49ers.
Tiller opened last season as the 49ers’ starting right guard. He made the first five starts of the season before being replaced. The 2012 sixth-rounder by the Saints will compete for a depth job in K.C.
  • FA Guard #66
    Chiefs released OG Andrew Tiller.
Tiller made seven starts for the Chiefs last season and received strong marks from Pro Football Focus for his run blocking. He should resurface.
