Last night, the NBA featured all the bells and whistles of opening night. For those of us that grind NBA on a nightly basis, tonight might as well be the real opening night. Regardless, the NBA experts on NBC Sports Edge will help you cash tickets all season long.
Washington Wizards vs. Toronto Raptors (-2.5) Total: 221
Last season was not one to write home about for the Toronto Raptors after decent experience in the NBA bubble. The Raptors played last season in Tampa, Florida not Toronto, Ontario. Pascal Siakam, Kyle Lowry and a host of other Raptors dealt with Covid-19 issues and injuries. Toronto, a team that was an Eastern Conference playoff staple, missed the postseason last year. Kyle Lowry, who may be the best player in Raptors’ history, has taken his talents to South Beach. This season, Nick Nurse has the job of returning the Raptors to relevance in the Eastern Conference. Tonight, that journey starts in Toronto.

The Washington Wizards showed promise at times last season. Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal both lit it up in the second half of the season, so the Wizards were able to qualify for the playoffs. They were not in the postseason for long as the 76ers made easy work of them. This season, Russell Westbrook is gone, but the real star of the team Bradley Beal is still in town. New additions to the Wizards roster include Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell and Spencer Dinwiddie. Washington should be a fun team.

PointsBet opened this game up with the Raptors as a 3.5-point favorite. Despite heavy betting on the home team, the spread moved toward the Wizards. The Raptors will not have Pascal Siakam for tonight’s game. He is still a few weeks away. The Wizards will have their main pieces.
I think returning to Toronto will give the Raptors a boost; I love them to win the first quarter. PointsBet has them at -115 to take the opening period. I think Washington will settle in and make the game very close. This game will come down to the final possession, so I am not betting on the spread. The last three between these teams saw the Over cash twice; those Totals closed at 235.5
