The NHL season officially kicked off last week with a couple of games in Prague, but the season truly gets underway this evening, with two games set to take place here in North America.
Below you will find my projections for the two games as well as any wagers worth considering, with odds powered by PointsBet.

BETS
Given the massive discrepancy between my projected outcome and what PointsBet is offering, Vegas on the 3-way moneyline at odds of +140 is the play. Last season was the season from hell for the Golden Knights, limping down the stretch following a year in which they simply couldn’t stay healthy. Now, with a largely full complement of players, Vegas will look to regain their customary spot near the top of the NHL’s Western Conference. The skill players the Golden Knights possess are likely too much for the Kings to handle tonight at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Jack Eichel begins his first full season with Vegas, looking to thrive alongside veterans Reilly Smith and newly acquired Phil Kessel. Combined with the introduction of new head coach Bruce Cassidy, I’m expecting the Golden Knights to come out of the gates firing and take down the Kings in regulation on the road.
