Free agent LB Blair Brown was arrested and charged with domestic battery.
Brown was arrested and taken to jail by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 5:41 pm ET Thursday afternoon. He allegedly “pointed a firearm at a woman and stated he was going to kill her.” The Jags’ 2017 fifth-round pick who was just released at the beginning of May, Brown’s career is likely done for following his arrest.

    Jaguars waived LB Blair Brown.
Hyped as a potential 2018 starter, Brown ended up playing just five snaps on defense. His release comes the same day that Telvin Smith announced he would not be playing in 2019, so the Jags were clearly all the way soured. A 2017 fifth-round pick, Brown turns 25 later this month.

Jaguars selected Ohio LB Blair Brown with the No. 148 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Brown (6’0/238) was a three-year starter as the Bobcats’ middle linebacker, breaking out as a senior for 15 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and a forced fumble en route to first-team All-MAC honors. PFF College charged Brown with only two missed tackles in 2016. Brown crushed the Combine with 88th-percentile SPARQ results, shining in the vertical (37 ½") jump and three-cone drill (6.92). While undersized by NFL standards, Brown compensated at Ohio with an ubiquitous style, flying all over the field and holding his own in coverage. Brown projects as an early-career special teamer who could work his way into a starting role if opportunity arises.

Jaguars signed fifth-round LB Blair Brown to a four-year contract.
A three-year starter in the MAC, Brown became a fifth-rounder on the back of a breakout senior campaign. A strong tackler on film, Brown graded out as an elite athlete at the Combine. He is under-sized at 6-foot-0, 238 pounds, but compensated in college with energy and athleticism. He could make an immediate impact on special teams.

Jaguars OLB Blair Brown is expected to start on the strong side.
Brown played with the first-team defense in offseason workouts. He has the early edge over Donald Payne and seventh-rounder Leon Jacobs. With Telvin Smith and Myles Jack in every-down roles, Brown should be limited to base sets.
