    Tigers signed RHP Bubba Derby to a minor league contract.
    Derby was pitching for the Charleston Dirty Birds of the independent Atlantic League this season. The 28-year-old righty compiled a lackluster 7.31 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 49/20 K/BB ratio across 48 innings (25 appearances, three starts) last year between Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Nashville in the Brewers’ system.

    Brewers acquired RHP Bubba Derby and C Jacob Nottingham from the Athletics for OF Khris Davis.
    The 21-year-old right-hander was a sixth-round pick of the Athletics in last June’s draft. He posted some impressive numbers in his professional debut, registering a 1.21 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 47/10 K/BB ratio over 37 1/3 innings, primarily at Low-A Vermont.
