Yankees reassigned RHP Allan Winans and LHP Brandon Leibrandt to minor league camp.
29-year-old hurler Winans had a path to potentially crack the club’s Opening Day roster after the injuries to Gerrit Cole and Luis Gil, but he struggled to a 5.02 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 14 1/3 innings in Grapefruit League action. He’ll open the season in the rotation at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and should get an opportunity to pitch for the Yankees at some point during the 2025 season.

Yankees signed LHP Brandon Leibrandt to a minor league contract.
It’s unclear whether or not the 31-year-old southpaw will receive an invitation to major league spring training. Leibrandt made two appearances with the Reds during the 2024 season, compiling a cringe-inducing 9.95 ERA, 2.05 WHIP and a 5/2 K/BB ratio across 6 1/3 innings of work. He’ll add depth from the left side of the Yankees’ bullpen.

Reds designated LHP Brandon Leibrandt for assignment.
Leibrandt made two appearances for the Reds this season, giving up seven runs over 6 1/3 innings in his first major league action since 2020. He’ll clear waivers and likely become a minor league free agent.

Reds optioned LHP Brandon Leibrandt to Triple-A Louisville.
Leibrandt was recalled earlier this week, but he’s been sent down for a fresh arm. He has a 9.95 ERA in two appearances for Cincinnati this year.

Reds recalled LHP Brandon Leibrandt from Triple-A Louisville.
Leibrandt is up to replace Brandon Williamson (arm) with Williamson placed on the 15-day injured list. Leibrandt will give the Reds a multi-inning option while he’s with the club.

Reds optioned LHP Brandon Leibrandt to Triple-A Louisville.
Leibrandt was called up on Thursday, but after tossing 2 1/3 scoreless innings he’s going back to the minors. The Reds have opted for a fresh arm with a doubleheader against the Brewers on tap Friday so you can’t really blame them. It wouldn’t be a big surprise if Leibrandt resurfaces with Cincinnati before the season is over.

Reds selected the contract of LHP Brandon Leibrandt from Triple-A Louisville.
Congrats to Leibrandt, whose father, Charlie, pitched for the Reds from 1979-82. Brandon’s only previous MLB experience was five appearances with the Marlins in 2020. He opened this year in indy ball before signing with the Reds and posting a 4.46 ERA in 15 starts for Louisville. He can go long today if needed, and if not, he could make a start this weekend.

Reds signed LHP Brandon Leibrandt to a minor league contract.
Leibrandt hasn’t appeared in the majors since the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign when he made five relief appearances for the Marlins. The 31-year-old southpaw provides Cincinnati with some extra organizational starting pitching after an extremely impressive four-start run to open the year with the High Point Rockers of the independent Atlantic League.

    Cubs released LHP Brandon Leibrandt.
Leibrandt last appeared in the majors during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. The 29-year-old lefty signed a minor league contract with the Cubs back in March and has been released after compiling a 4.67 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 68/16 K/BB ratio across 69 1/3 innings (21 appearances, eight starts) this season between Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa.

Cubs signed LHP Brandon Leibrandt to a minor league contract.
Leibrandt had a deal in place with the Kentucky Wild Health Genomes of the independent Atlantic League earlier this month, but has opted to join the Cubs instead. The 29-year-old southpaw registered a pedestrian 5.68 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 74/33 K/BB ratio across 88 2/3 innings (21 appearances, 18 starts) last year between Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Jacksonville in the Marlins’ minor-league system.
