Steelers signed fifth-round CB Brian Allen to a four-year contract.
A converted wide receiver who made only ten starts at cornerback for the Utah Utes, Davis is a developmental prospect with plus size (6'3/215) and length (34-inch arms), and outstanding athletic measurables. He ran a 4.48 at the Combine, also shining in the three-cone drill (6.64). If Allen progresses nicely, he could become a candidate to start by 2018.

Steelers selected Utah CB Brian Allen with the No. 173 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Allen (6’3/215) began his college career at wide receiver before converting to cornerback, where he made only ten combined starts as a junior and senior, collecting five interceptions and 4.5 tackles for loss. He blazed 4.48 at the Combine with a twitchy 6.64 three-cone time. Short on experience and turning 24 in October, Allen is old for a developmental rookie, although his size and length (34-inch arms) make Allen an intriguing press-corner project for a patient coaching staff.
