Bykowski

A former tight end, Bykowski stands in at 6-foot-6, 306 pounds with 33 3/4-inch arms. He has the measurables, but has little shot of cracking the 49ers’ loaded 53-man roster. Bykowski’s most likely home is the practice squad.

Bykowski (6-foot-6 7/8, 306) ran 5.30 forty and did 25 reps on the bench press at the Cyclones’ Pro Day. He has lengthy 33 3/4-inch arms. Bykowski started his college career as a tight end, and the legendary Gil Brandt thought he could go as high as the fourth round. He’ll compete for a roster spot in San Francisco.

Both players were seventh-round picks. Neither player was likely to make the team coming out of San Francisco’s massive draft class. Their 49ers pedigree could earn them a look on waivers, but the practice squad is the most likely destination for both.

A seventh-round pick in 2013, Bykowski spend his rookie year on the 49ers practice squad. An undrafted rookie out of Stanford, Skov was pushed out of the draft by his shaky medical history. All three are candidates for the practice squad.
