Finke

Finke was signed by the 49ers as a UDFA out of Notre Dame last year. He was waived before the season started and then signed to the practice squad. Finke was never elevated to the active roster at any point in his rookie season. He’s a long shot to make the final roster in Kansas City. His only hope will be as a special teams contributor and as the team’s fifth or sixth receiver.

The deal includes $95,000 guaranteed. Finke was productive with the Fighting Irish, posting a career-long 106-1,251-8 receiving line and being named team captain as a senior. Still, he doesn’t possess the type of speed (4.57-second 40-yard dash) to fully make up for his small stature (5-foot-9 and 186-pounds). Fun fact: Finke’s nickname is “The Slippery Fox.” He’ll need to build chemistry as a reliable slot WR quickly in order to have any chance to make the 49ers’ final roster or practice squad.
