    Mariners released RHP Cody Anderson.
Anderson was signed to a minor league contract in February. The 29-year-old pitched in 39 games over the last five years, and gave up nine runs in his 8 2/3 innings with the Indians in 2019.

Mariners signed RHP Cody Anderson to a minor league contract.
The 29-year-old right-hander has pitched in 39 games spread over the last five years. He worked in 8 2/3 innings for the Indians last year and struck out nine batters while walking eight and allowing nine earned runs. He will serve as minor league depth and might get a major league look as an emergency injury replacement.

Cody Anderson has elected to become a free agent.
Anderson was outrighted off the 40-man roster upon being activated from the 60-day injured list on Monday. The 29-year-old underwent surgery in mid-June for a torn flexor tendon, but he should be ready to pitch again in 2020.

Indians transferred RHP Cody Anderson to the 60-day injured list.
The move opens up a spot on the 40-man roster, which allowed them to trade for Phil Maton on Friday. Anderson recently had surgery to repair a torn flexor tendon in his right elbow, and likely isn’t going to be ready to pitch again until 2020.

Cody Anderson had surgery Friday to repair a torn flexor tendon in his right elbow.
It’s yet another setback for Anderson, who has hardly pitched the last three seasons due to elbow issues. He’s presumably done for the season.

Indians optioned RHP Cody Anderson to Triple-A Columbus.
Anderson gets the boot after making a couple unsuccessful starts. A.J. Cole has taken his spot on the roster.

Cody Anderson was lifted after allowing two runs and walking three in three innings Friday against the A’s.
Anderson, who is still building up after Tommy John, was lifted after 68 pitches tonight. He should really be pitching in Triple-A right now, but the Indians would have to find someone capable of replacing him. Also, that someone would have to be really, really cheap.

Cody Anderson went just 2/3 of an inning and allow four runs and on two hits in a loss to the Mariners on Sunday.
Anderson got the Start on Monday with the Indians moving around their rotation due to the loss of Corey Kluber. It didn’t go very well. After allowing a walk to Mitch Haniger and Dan Vogelbach and a single to Edwin Encarnacion, Jay Bruce launched a grand slam. An out and a walk later and the right-handers’ day was done. Anderson just doesn’t have the stuff or command to be an effective starter at the highest level, and we saw as much on Sunday. It’s possible that Anderson could start again against the A’s on Friday. You can do much better.

Indians recalled RHP Cody Anderson from Triple-A Columbus.
Anderson will start Sunday against the Mariners with the Indians needing another rotation reinforcement with Corey Kluber (forearm) going down. He’s not fully stretched out yet, so it could be a bit of a bullpen game for the Tribe.

Cody Anderson will start for the Indians on Saturday against the Mariners.
He is not fully stretched out, so it will be an abbreviated outing. Anderson would figure to have a chance to earn additional starts given the injuries the Indians are dealing with in their rotation. Trevor Bauer will be pushed back to Monday.
