NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein writes that Kansas LB Azur Kamara is “tremendously raw and unskilled as a rusher.”
Zierlein notes that the 6-foot-3, 245-pound Kamara -- who was not a full-time starter until 2019 -- is raw as a pass-rusher and, in addition, “missing instincts and feel to be able to play freely and fast against the run at this time.” The analyst would like to see added bulk if possible (i.e. if his frame can hold it). While there is much work to be done before Kamara might be ready to chip in at the pro level, Zierlein does see some upside in Kamara as “a long-limbed project to build from the ground up.”
  • Kansas LB Azur Kamara ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Kamara (6'3/245) is long -- 35.5-inch arms -- and has athletic juice, but he’s squarely in the later Day 3 range as a prospect. That’s because his athletic potential comes with massive developmental questions on the fronts of technique and basic dependability. Consider the KU linebacker a raw project -- one which will require a work -- but a project possessing of tools.
