Former Vanderbilt senior WR Cam Johnson transferred to Arizona State.
Johnson (6'0"/200) played four years with Vanderbilt, catching 124 passes for 1233 yards and 10 scores in his career there. The former four-star is a big addition to the ASU WR room. The Sun Devils struggled to get much going through the air last year, and Johnson could be a big piece to unlock that. ASU have been one of the most active transfer portal teams (both in and out) and nothing changes here.

Vanderbilt junior WR Cam Johnson caught ten passes for 114 yards in Saturday’s 24-17 loss at Mississippi State.
Johnson (6'0/185) may not have reached the end zone, but he did lead the Commodores in receptions, receiving yards and targets (13). The junior was also one of three to catch at least six passes on the day, with RB Keyon Henry-Brooks (9-97-0) and WR Chris Pierce (6-76-1) being the others. For the season Johnson, who hit double figures in receptions for the second straight game, has caught 33 passes for 334 yards and a touchdown. He’ll look to help get Vanderbilt into the win column for the first time this season when the Commodores visit Kentucky next week.

Vanderbilt junior WR Cam Johnson brought in 14 passes for 97 yards in Saturday’s 54-21 loss to Ole Miss.
It’s been a while since Johnson has looked like a major contributor. A four-star recruit in 2018, Johnson looks to finally be coming on for the Commodores. He brought in 14 passes in this one, which was eight more than the next-closest player on the team. He was the baseline for the passing offense, if nothing else. Johnson had just nine catches on the year headed into the evening.

Vanderbilt freshman WR Cam Johnson (leg) is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Johnson (6'0/185) played in the first four games of the campaign -- Commodores HC Derek Mason thinks this was good experience for the youngster -- but will now take a redshirt for the year. He was injured after being rolled up on while blocking against South Carolina on Saturday. A four-star recruit in the most recent recruiting cycle, Johnson ends his inaugural campaign of collegiate ball having caught four passes for 45 yards. Donaven Tennyson, Chris Pierce and C.J. Bolar are players who could potentially see closer looks with promising true frosh Johnson now ruled out for the season remainder.

Four-star 2018 WR Camron Johnson visited Auburn on Saturday.
“The facilities are top notch, of course,” Johnson said, “and everything being so close together was definitely nice to see.” In addition to his offer from Auburn, the 6-foot, 185-pounder out of Brentwood, Tennessee, has garnered interest from Illinois, Louisville, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Don’t expect a commitment any time soon, though. Johnson indicated that he likely won’t make a decision before next summer.

Rivals recruiting director Mike Farrell predicts that four-star 2018 WR Camron Johnson will commit to Tennessee.
“An in-state kid at a bit of a feeder program, you have to think the Vols win out here,” Farrell wrote. The 6-foot, 185-pounder hails from Brentwood, Tennessee. He took a visit to Auburn earlier this month, but that was just a cursory feeler. Johnson has said that he doesn’t plan on making a commitment until summer of 2017.

Vanderbilt signed four-star 2018 WR Camron Johnson.
Johnson comes from the Brentwood Academy -- a powerhouse in the state of Tennessee -- and picks the Commodores over offers from Tennessee and Auburn, among other high-profile schools. 247 Sports calls Johnson the 42nd best wideout in the class, and scouting reports note impressive hands and route-running. Johnson could be an immediate factor for Vanderbilt in 2018.
