The Heisman Trophy ceremony is supposed to be a formal, dignified affair. But after Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford was announced as the 2008 Heisman Trophy winner, someone could be heard shouting while Bradford made his way to the podium. So who was that loud and obnoxious person yelling? It was none other than Billy Sims, the Oklahoma running back who won the Heisman in 1978.Sims was yelling “Boomer” and hoping to get others to repeat “Sooner.” That’s a traditional Oklahoma cheer, but Sims, who did the same thing when Jason White won the award in 2003, doesn’t seem to get the difference between a formal ceremony and a pep rally. Someone should really tell him to hush up.Here’s the video:[yt]t1mI9WooCzw[/yt]
