Duke football players are going to carry on this season with wide receiver Blair Holliday in their thoughts.
And, on their helmets.
Per the Herald Sun, Duke’s helmets will sport a No. 8 -- Holliday’s number -- on the headgear in honor of the Blue Devils receiver, who was involved in a jet ski accident last month that left him in critical condition. He was recently transferred to the Shepherd Center for brain-injury rehabilitation in Georgia on Monday, one of the best of its kind in the country.
Holliday has been able to visit with his coaches and teammates at UNC hospitals. Holliday even spoke for the first time to coach David Cutcliffe and to his parents on Tuesday. His words?
It’s good to hear Holliday is talking. Also, the story provides details for two accounts, both approved by the NCAA, that have been established to raise money to help offset Holliday’s medical costs. If you would like more information, you can click on the Herald Sun link above.
