Exiled ‘Husker back moving on to 1-AA

Quentin Castille, dismissed from the Nebraska football program over the weekend, has decided to transfer to Northwestern State, his mother told the Lincoln Journal Star.

Castille, who was kicked off the team by head coach Bo Pelini for violating team rules, is expected to enroll at the Louisiana college today.

“As mom, I kind of stepped out of it because I didn’t want any influence on his decision,” Wanda Castille said. “But I do know he talked about liking the coaching staff that was there ... and he said he felt a chemistry with the players when he got there.”

As Northwestern State is a Div. 1-AA school, Castille will be eligible to play immediately.

According to the paper, the running back may have also considered Memphis, Oregon and Texas Southern.
