INTERNET HELPS NAB ARRESTED PENN STATE PLAYER

Penn State defensive tackle Jared Odrick was charged with disorderly conduct, and he can thank the internet for getting him arrested. The defensive lineman, who was an All-Big Ten honoree last season, got into a tussle with four college students on his way back from a night of drinking.Police say words were exchanged between Odrick and the group, and a shoving match broke out, with Odrick punching someone in the group. Police said members of the group found the defensive lineman’s photo on line, and used that to identify him and contacted the police. It was the first sign of trouble for the Nittany Lions this season after a rash of arrests last year brought Joe Paterno‘s program under scrutiny. When police went to question Odrick, he referred them to his lawyer.Odrick was fined $430 on the citation, and according to this report, the team’s sports information director says that there are no indications that the charges have affected Odrick’s status with the team during spring practice or for the upcoming season, where Odrick has been named to the Lombardi watch list.
