Still reeling from the huge blow of losing defensive tackle Jared Crick to a torn chest muscle, Nebraska’s D-line has taken another hit to its depth.
The Omaha World-Herald report that backup DT Thad Randle sustained an unspecified knee injury on Wednesday and will not play this weekend against Michigan State. He will be re-evaluated by team doctors next week.
“I think right now we’ve been fortunate to develop some more depth over the course of the last couple years,” D-line coach John Papuchis said. “That allows us to be able to still feel very comfortable going into this game with the guys we’ve got. . You feel bad for the guys that get hurt, but that’s part of the game.”
Randle had played in six games this season.
