Michigan’s defense has been -- far and away -- the most improved part of this Wolverines team in year 1 after the Rich Rodriguez era.
Unfortunately for Brady Hoke and Co., they’ll be playing in the Sugar Bowl without one of their defensive lineman and perhaps another as well. Hoke announced today that backup DE Nathan Brink won’t play in the bowl because of injury and starting defensive tackle Will Heininger is questionable with a foot injury.
Heininger, who has 23 tackles on the season and a sack, sustained the injury last Thursday. Brink has just one tackle on the year.
