Rumored to be in the works for awhile, Rutgers and Temple have officially finalized a four-game series, both schools announced this afternoon.
The Owls will play at Rutgers during the 2015 and 2017 seasons while hosting the Scarlet Knights in 2016 and 2018.
“We are very excited to renew the series with Rutgers,” said Temple head coach Al Golden in a statement. “It is a great game for our fans as it renews a regional rivalry and also allows for friends and family of Owl Nation to support the Cherry and White on the road.”
Rutgers and Temple have met 35 times on the gridiron in a series that began in 1948, with the Scarlet Knights holding a 19-15 advantage. The teams last met on October 16, 2004 at Rutgers Stadium with RU posting a 16-6 victory.
