STANFORD PULLS RECRUITING COUP WITH WR COMMIT

One of the top-rated recruits in the state of Georgia has chosen to attend Stanford, over offers from the home state Bulldogs and Notre Dame.Tai-ler Jones, one of the top wide receiver recruits in the 2010 class, has committed to Jim Harbaugh, selecting the Stanford Cardinal over some 35 scholarship offers. Many suspected that Jones was chosing between the home state Bulldogs and Notre Dame, where his father played college football.Jones, of Gainesville High School (Gainesville, Georgia that is) had Cal, UCLA, and North Carolina as his other finalists. He caught 81 passes and 13 touchdowns as a junior."The character of the coaches and the environment they build around their players is important to me,” Jones told Scout.com. “Also, there’s the environment around the overall campus built by the students and the teachers. And then there’s the weight the degree carries in the business world once I graduate. Then, I asked myself if I were a regular student and couldn’t play football, would I still want to go that school?”
