TCU AD slightly miffed over potential move to the blue turf

Yesterday, Mountain West commissioner Craig Thompson revealed that athletic directors in the conference were in favor of moving the Boise State-TCU game from Forth Worth to Boise and no it’s not of spite because TCU’s moving to the Big East either.

Although no firm decision has been made, a move seems inevitable; it takes a simple majority of MWC presidents to vote for a change, and TCU does not hold a vote during their lame-duck year in the league.

Today, TCU’s athletic director let it be known that he’s, well, not exactly thrilled with the development.

“It’s our home game and they told us it would be our home game and to change the rules midstream is not appropriate,” Chris Del Conte told ESPNDallas.com. “I’m hoping they do what we originally said, which was that it would be a home game for TCU. To me to change it is not right, but that’s been the discussion.”

A final decision on a venue change could be made as early as next week at a meeting of the league presidents. Del Conte seems to be naively holding out hope that those in power will show some sort of class and keep the schedule as is.

“I don’t think just because we’re going to the Big East for a different opportunity that we should be treated differently,” Del Conte said shortly before being asked to pull the conference’s finger.
