The depth on the interior of Texas defensive line has taken a hit mere days before the start of the new season.
UT officials confirmed Tuesday morning that Ashton Dorsey has decided to transfer. There was no reason given for the senior’s departure, or if he will attempt to catch on elsewhere.
While Dorsey wasn’t a starter, he was expected to play a significant role in the Longhorns’ defensive tackle rotation.
In nine games last seasons, Dorsey totaled 10 tackles for loss. That total was good for third on the team.
He was a four-star member of UT’s 2010 recruiting class.
