You know how I know we’re still deep in the offseason? Back-to-back posts featuring kickers, that’s how.
Be that as it may, earlier this afternoon we posted a video clip of Baylor kickoff specialist Spencer Evans having little to no problem nailing a 75-yard field goal attempt. That was impressive, but now it’s not even the longest offseason, doesn’t-count kick in the Big 12.
Very early Sunday morning, Texas’ Nick Rose, he of the backflip field goal, posted a video to Twitter showing him kicking a football through the uprights at Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium from 80 yards out.
Unlike his BU counterpart, Rose has actually attempted field goals in actual games, serving as the Longhorns primary placekicker in 2014. Last season, Rose hit on 14 of his 21 field goal attempts, including a career-long 51-yarder in a 28-7 win over Oklahoma State last November.
