Well, well, well. Looks like that YouTube video paid off after all.
If you remember from a post in February, UConn quarterback Johnny McEntee wowed the college football community with a completely awesome trick shot video. Many of you opined in the comments section that the redshirt junior should be given a shot at the starting job for the Huskies, and seeing how UConn had traditionally struggled at that position, who were we to disagree?
Well, you all got your wish.
McEntee will be starting for UConn this afternoon against Fordham. Considering the Patriot League members are one of the worst in 1-AA, I expect nothing less than McEntee’s first touchdown to deflect off a goalpost upright, off an opponent’s helmet, past the nacho cart and into a receiver’s hands for the score.
