Already dealing with the loss of star wide receiver Robert Woods for the spring due to a nagging ankle injury, USC will also be short a defensive lineman for the next month or so because of similar health problems.
Coach Lane Kiffin said after Tuesday’s practice that defensive tackle Cody Temple will miss the rest of spring because of ankle surgery. Temple, who signed with the Trojans in 2011, has been making a push for playing time along the D-line after moving over from offensive line this spring.
Temple is, however, projected to be back in time for fall camp.
Temple redshirted his freshman year at USC and was a three-star recruit according to Rivals.com out of Bakersfield, CA.
