    Clemmer was picked up in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 Draft from the Guardians during the offseason and went on to allow 25 runs over 17 2/3 innings (17 appearances) this season for Double-A Harrisburg. The 26-year-old righty has yet to pitch above the Double-A level.

    Clemmer, who turns 26 years old next month, finished with a 3.40 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 62/33 K/BB ratio in 50 1/3 innings of work this past summer at Double-A Akron. He’ll function as organizational relief depth for Washington.

    Indians minor league right-hander Dakody Clemmer has been suspended 50 games for a second positive test for a drug of abuse.
    Clemmer, a 19th-round pick this past June, posted a 7.71 ERA over 17 relief appearances in rookie ball this year. He’s turning 21 in January and will have to serve the suspension at the start of the season.
