ESPN Cleveland believes S David Sims could push injured Usama Young for the Browns’ third safety role.
Young has been sidelined since August 2, and Sims has shined in his absence, notching interceptions in both of Cleveland’s preseason games. “He’s challenging, he’s physical and he’s really made a huge amount of progress in the time we’ve been together,” coach Pat Shurmur said. An undrafted free agent out of Iowa State last season, Sims never cracked a 53-man roster.
