Fisher

Fisher, a former highly-regarded prospect with the Astros just a few years ago, signed a minor league contract with the Twins back in December and never wound up making it to Minnesota. The 28-year-old outfielder hit just .158/.259/.305 with three homers in 108 plate appearances this season for Triple-A St. Paul.

Larnach and Miranda are the most notable names among an avalanche of cuts from Twins’ major-league spring training. Larnach, a former first-round selection, hit seven homers in 301 plate appearances last year as a rookie. Meanwhile, Miranda put together a stellar breakout 2021 campaign in the upper minors and appeared to have a shot at making the Opening Day roster in a versatile utility role. They will get to play everyday at Triple-A St. Paul to open the year and should be up in the majors at some point this season.

Fisher clocked a solo home run off Carlos Garcia with one out in the seventh inning. For his career, the 28-year-old outfielder is hitting under the Mendoza line in 172 games at the major league level. Look elsewhere for fantasy glory.

This will likely also include an invitation to the major league side of spring training. Fisher made just eight plate appearances at the MLB level in 2021 with the Brewers, though that was partly due to a couple of leg injuries. He’s a former supplemental first-round pick of the Astros.

Fisher had been designated for assignment but will remain in the organization after clearing waivers.

Fisher went 2-for-8 during his short stay on Milwaukee’s active roster. The 27-year-old former supplemental first-round pick of the Astros is now a career .195/.285/.378 hitter in 172 total major league games.

The 27-year-old has been sidelined since April 1 with a left hamstring strain but suffered a left calf injury while on his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville. Fisher has now healed up from both injuries and is out of minor league options, so he will rejoin the Brewers in Colorado Thursday.

Fisher was injured during his previous rehab assignment earlier this month, but appears healthy enough to begin playing again. Barring any setbacks, he could be back in Milwaukee by the end of the month.

It’s another setback for Fisher, who went on the injured list before the start of the 2021 regular season after straining his left hamstring in mid-March. There is obviously no timetable for his Brewers debut.

Fisher suffered the strain on March 14 and will probably be unavailable for another couple of weeks.
