    Pirates released RHP Dovydas Neverauskas.
Neverauskas was recently designated for assignment, so this move at least allows him to seek out a major league deal with another team. The 27-year-old posted a 7.11 ERA but did strike out 23 in 17 appearances with the Bucs in 2020.

Pirates designated RHP Dovydas Neverauskas for assignment.
The move removes Neverauskas from the Pirates’ 40-man roster. The 27-year-old has struggled mightily in the majors over the last two seasons, as he followed a 10.61 ERA in nine games last summer with a 7.11 mark over 17 appearances in 2020. A team could be interested in Neverauskas in hopes he flashes the potential he showed in the minors a few years ago, but it’s unlikely he’s anything more than organizational depth going forward.
