Free agent DT Ego Ferguson worked out for the Raiders.
The Packers released Ferguson with a failed physical after claiming him off waivers. The workout gives the Raiders a chance to see where he’s at in his recovery. Ferguson’s had knee/shoulder injuries the last two years, but should resurface when healthy.

The 2014 second-rounder suffered a torn patellar tendon last October, and evidently still isn’t 100 percent healthy. The Bears had been trying to trade him.

The Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs reports the Bears have made it known 2014 second-round DL Ego Ferguson is available for trade.
Ferguson was drafted by the Phil Emery-Marc Trestman regime and is a really poor fit in DC Vic Fangio’s 3-4 defense. Ferguson was the 51st pick in the 2014 draft and missed much of last season with a torn patellar tendon. Ferguson played 132 snaps this preseason and would be a fit for 4-3 defenses.

Updating a previous item, Bears DE Ego Ferguson suffered a torn patellar tendon in his knee before he was placed on injured reserve last season.
It was previously unknown what type of knee injury Ferguson suffered back in October, but now it’s come to light that it was a pretty severe one. Torn patellar tendons are extremely tough to come back from. Just ask Victor Cruz. Ferguson is expected to participate in training camp but will be prone to setbacks. He was the 51st overall pick out of LSU back in 2014.

Knee and shoulder injuries have limited Ferguson to just four games over his last two seasons. The former second-round pick turns 26 in September.

Packers claimed DT Ego Ferguson off waivers from the Bears.
It’s GM Ted Thompson taking a no-risk flier on a player who was the 51st overall pick in the 2014 draft, but has made no NFL impact through three seasons. Ferguson measured 6-foot-3, 315 coming out of LSU. The 25-year-old will compete for a roster spot as a backup nose tackle.

Packers released DT Ego Ferguson with a failed physical designation.
Ferguson was claimed off waivers earlier this week. He’s still not over the knee/shoulder injures that limited him to four games the last two seasons. 25-year-old Ferguson should resurface when healthy.

Free agent DT Ego Ferguson will try out for the Patriots during their rookie minicamp.
Ferguson will join S Taylor Mays as the “big names” trying out during the minicamp. Ferguson was released with a failed physical designation by the Packers after they claimed him off waivers from the Bears in early April. Ferguson has also worked out for the Raiders.

    Lions signed DT Ego Ferguson.
Detroit also added DT Bruce Gaston while parting ways with DTs Nick James and Maurice Swain. Waived by the Bears in March, Ferguson was initially claimed by the Packers, but Green Bay released him with a failed physical designation two days later. Ferguson is apparently healthy now, but the former second-round pick has played in just four games the last two seasons.

Ego Ferguson and Jeremiah Ratliff are candidates to start at defensive end now that Ray McDonald has been cut.
The Bears were relying on McDonald to be a starter and major player for them at 3-4 end next to rookie nose tackle Eddie Goldman and bookend Jarvis Jenkins. They’re now scrambling as Ferguson is more of a tackle and Ratliff turns 34 years old in August.
