  • FA Point Guard #2
The Mavericks waived Facundo Campazzo on Tuesday to make room to sign Kemba Walker.
Facu wasn’t playing enough to provide any value in fantasy hoops, so this won’t impact many leagues, if any.

Dallas signed Kemba Walker and waived Facundo Campazzo on Tuesday.
The Mavs have officially brought in Kemba to be another playmaker behind Luka Doncic. He can provide some points, assists and triples, but it’s unclear how large of a role he’ll have, or if he’ll have the ball in his hands much.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that the Mavericks plan to sign Kemba Walker and waive Facundo Campazzo.
Dallas could desperately use another guy who can get his own shot outside of Luka Doncic, and that’s surely the team’s rationale for signing Walker. The UConn product hasn’t played yet this season, but the last time we saw him on the court, he averaged 11.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 triples across 25.6 minutes per game for the Knicks in 2021-22.

  • FA Point Guard #2
Facundo Campazzo played 13 minutes in his Mavs’ debut on Tuesday for three points, two assists and two steals on 1-of-4 shooting.
He played well when he was out there despite the lack of fantasy stats. He’s not worth rostering and probably won’t be unless the Mavericks start suffering some serious injury woes. His season start was delayed due to visa issues but he was out there tonight.

  • DET Shooting Guard #10
Tim Hardaway Jr. has been ruled out of Wednesday’s matchup with the Pelicans due to right foot soreness.
With THJ out of action, we’d expect a bump in minutes for the likes of Josh Green, Theo Pinson, Spencer Dinwiddie and even Facundo Campazzo. Christian Wood will likely take on a larger role on offense alongside Luka Doncic.

  • FA Point Guard #2
The Mavericks are working through the process of getting Facundo Campazzo’s visa revalidated.
Campazzo won’t be active until this situation is taken care of, with Mavericks coach Jason Kidd saying the team hopes to resolve it by early next week. This won’t impact fantasy hoops, as Campazzo will be no higher than third on the depth chart once cleared.

  • FA Point Guard #2
The Mavs have signed Facundo Campazzo to a one-year contract.
Campazzo gets at least one more year in the NBA, but he’s just going to be an emergency depth guy in Dallas. Don’t expect any fantasy value as long as Luka Doncic and Spencer Dinwiddie are healthy.

According to Marc Stein, the Mavericks are in advanced contract talks with free agent guard Facundo Campazzo.
Stein reported on Sunday that the Mavericks were considering the possibility of signing Campazzo, and things have reportedly moved forward. With Jalen Brunson signing with the Knicks during the summer, the Mavericks needed another point guard to join Luka Doncic and Spencer Dinwiddie. While the veteran guard will give Dallas additional depth if the signing is complete, don’t expect to get much fantasy value from Campazzo.

According to Marc Stein, the Mavericks continue to weigh the possibility of signing free-agent guard Facundo Campazzo.
Campazzo played the last two seasons in Denver and, despite receiving interest from European teams (Fenerbahce and Real Madrid), his focus has been on remaining in the NBA. Dallas could be an exciting destination for Campazzo, as his former Real Madrid teammate (Luka Doncic) is the franchise cornerstone. Also, Spencer Dinwiddie is expected to run the show for the second unit after many expected him to replace Jalen Brunson in the starting lineup. Campazzo is unlikely to be a fantasy asset if he lands in Dallas.

Facundo Campazzo finished Saturday’s win over America in the Americup semifinals with 10 points, seven assists, five steals, three rebounds and a block across 33 minutes.
Campazzo, who’s currently a free agent after playing the last two seasons with Denver, led Argentina in assists and finished as one of three players with double-digit scoring. The 31-year-old guard shot just 4-of-13 from the floor and 0-of-7 from beyond the arc, but high efficiency has never been his bread and butter. Despite a propensity for assists, steals and occasionally triples, he shot just 36.2% in his two NBA seasons. He’ll look to join a new team as training camp approaches.
