Drake gave up five hits, walked one and struck out six. Making just his third major league start, Drake was solid in his four innings. He allowed two runs, but struck out six batters. Drake isn’t quite a recommended fantasy starter, but this was a step in the right direction. He’s lined up to face the Padres at home on Thursday.

Miller apparently was hurt after entering the game in the eighth, but he was still throwing smoke in the ninth. It doesn’t look like it’ll turn into any sort of significant issue.

Bolte’s homer was a three-run shot that cut the Tigers’ lead in half to 8-5. The 22-year-old also doubled and singled in one of his best games an MLB player thus far. The power production has been middle in his .350 slugging percentage, but a .257 average and .340 on-base percentage to pair with it is nothing to sneeze at.

Contreras left Friday’s game after being hit on the back of the helmet by a pitch, but he seems to have cleared concussion protocol, and it looks like he’ll miss just the one full contest.

Abbott gave up three hits, walked five and struck out one. He fell to 5-7 with the loss. A year after Abbott put up a 2.87 ERA, he predictably regressed and has a 3.91 ERA in 23 starts this year. He’s lined up to face the Nationals on the road on Friday.

In just his second game, Clark has his first MLB homer; a two-run shot off Jack Perkins. He also singled, and the 21-year-old has gone 5-for-9 in his first two games while also drawing a walk and knocking in three runs. It’s a very small sample, but it’s pretty obvious that Clark has the talent to be a major factor at the highest level. There’s a good chance this is a five-category contributor someday, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he was more helpful than not in his eligible fantasy formats for the remainder of the campaign.

It was starting to look like maybe the trade rumors were bothering Goodman, as he’d gone 0-for-12 with nine strikeouts in his previous three games. He’s now tied for second in the majors with 33 homers. He has two more than last year, when he set a record for Rockies catchers. Barring a trade or an injury, he’ll almost certainly become the first Rockies hitter to reach 40 homers since Nolan Arenado in 2019 and maybe the first to reach 45 since Todd Helton hit 49 in 2001 to tie the franchise record established by Larry Walker in 1997.
