Condon homers in Triple-A action

It hasn’t been the best month for Condon, who is hitting .197/.326/.338 in August with two home runs, 13 RBI, and a 20/20 K/BB ratio. That being said, he is making a good amount of contact and has still proven himself over 109 games at Triple-A this season with 22 home runs and an .897 OPS. We wouldn’t be surprised to see him up in Colorado when rosters expand in September.

Condon is now up to nine home runs and 29 RBI on the season. The 23-year-old has had a bit of a streaky season so far. He had a solid April but was cool to start May before going on a 12-game hitting streak to end the month. So far in June, he’s gone just 3-for-22 with two extra base hits. However, he has a 6/5 K/BB ratio over that span, so he’s not being overmatched, which is a good sign. Still, a .249/.383/.454 slash line isn’t going to force the Rockies to be aggressive in calling him up, which means we may not see him until the end of the summer.

Condon now has four home runs and nine RBI on the season while slashing .325/.438/1.113 in 10 games. He does have an 11/7 K/BB ratio, so there are some swing-and-miss issues to work out, but it’s hard to deny what the 22-year-old is doing at this level right now. He has played both first base and right field this season, so that gives the Rockies two potential spots to play him if he keeps hitting like this into the month of May.

The third-overall selection in the 2024 MLB Draft suffered hand and wrist injuries that impacted his development, but really started to show some progress late last year when he mashed 11 homers in 55 games at Double-A Hartford. The 22-year-old power-hitter projects as a potential middle-of-the-order threat and an impact fantasy contributor, especially in Colorado, if he can make enough contact. He’s off to an excellent start this season, hitting .357 (10-for-28) with three homers in seven games in the extremely hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. He has a real shot to reach the big leagues at some point later this year.

No one from this trio was expected to crack the Rockies’ Opening Day roster, but Condon made a strong case this spring — hitting .385 (15-for-39) with three homers and nine RBI over 46 plate appearances during Cactus League play. If Troy Johnston or TJ Rumfield struggle early in the season and Condon gets off to a hot start at Triple-A Albuquerque, he could push for a promotion.

That’s already the third homer of the spring for Condon. The third-overall pick of the 2024 draft has hit .538 with a 1.321 slugging percentage over the first nine games of the Cactus League, and it’s a reminder of the enormous upside he showed in college prior to joining Colorado. It’s not crazy to think Condon could help the Rockies in 2026, and maybe fantasy managers can get some of that benefit, too.

The 22-year-old slugger delivered a run-scoring single in the second inning that gave the Rockies an early 2-1 lead they would never relinquish. He then clubbed a 359-foot (102.8 mph EV) solo shot off of Reiver Sanmartin in the third that made it a 3-1 ballgame. Following up a strong showing in the Arizona Fall League, Condon is off to a terrific start in Cactus League play, hitting .600 (3-for-5) with a pair of homers. With no one standing in his way at first base, he could push for inclusion on the Opening Day roster if he keeps up this torrid pace.

Condon has made up for lost development time with a scorching run in Arizona, batting .356 (26-for-73) with four extra-base hits and nearly as many walks (11) as strikeouts (14) through 19 games. The 22-year-old slugger — the third overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft — possesses enough over-the-fence power to project as an immediate fantasy contributor once he reaches Coors Field. He profiles as a top-60 dynasty prospect entering next season.

Confon is batting .341/.420/.477 in 50 plate appearances while playing exclusively first base thus far in the AFL. Odds are that he’ll get a look in the majors there at some point during 2026, though he’ll probably spend at least the first couple of months in the minors.

Condon was the third overall pick in the 2024 draft and had a solid first professional season, hitting .268/.376/.444 with 14 home runs in 99 games split between High-A and Double-A. He struggled a bit to end the year in Double-A and hit just .235 with 67 strikeouts in 55 games; however, he did have 11 home runs in those 55 games, and the power is very real. The 22-year-old is just 5-for-21 in his first five AFL games, but he has one triple, one home run, and eight RBI, so that kind of raw power playing in Coors Field is appealing.
