Parker Messick allowed four runs in 6 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Rangers on Monday.
Messick gave up eight hits, walked none and struck out five. He fell to 7-5 with the loss. Messick was off to an excellent start first two months of the season, but has now allowed four runs in two of his last four starts. His ERA is 2.85 and his xFIP is 3.26, so the skills have certainly been there. Messick is lined up to face the White Sox at home this weekend.
