Mookie Betts was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday’s series finale against the Athletics with right wrist soreness.

Miguel Rojas takes over at shortstop with Max Muncy moving into the cleanup spot against his former club. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters they made the decision to scratch Betts out of an abundance of caution. It doesn’t sound like a significant concern, but fantasy managers should closely monitor his status heading into Friday’s series opener against the division-rival Padres.

Mookie Betts (wrist) returned to the Dodgers’ starting lineup for Thursday’s series opener against the Padres.

Betts was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup against the Athletics due to soreness in his right wrist, but it appears to have been only a minor issue. The 33-year-old shortstop has been sizzling at the plate as of late, slashing .373/.408/.657 with five homers and 11 RBI over 71 plate appearances in his last 16 games.

Betts was scratched from the game against the A’s because of right wrist soreness, but he’s already feeling better. According to Roberts, there was no clear incident which led to the soreness.

Max Muncy is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Athletics.

Muncy takes a well deserved break after going 2-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI during Monday’s slugfest in West Sacramento. The 35-year-old won the first-ever Max Muncy squared showdown in decisive fashion as he continues to haunt his former organization. It’ll be Tommy Edman getting a turn at the hot corner in his absence.

Max Muncy had a solo homer and an RBI single Monday against the A’s.

The first Matchup of the Max Muncies saw the Dodgers’ veteran homer and wind up on the winning side. However, the Athletics’ Muncy got the better on the lone one-vs.-one matchup; he hit a grounder to third in the second that bounced off the bag and over Dodger Muncy’s head for an infield single. Unfortunately, Mookie Betts ultimately handled the ball, so we’re still waiting for our first “Max Muncy grounds out/singles to third baseman Max Muncy” in the box score.

Mookie Betts had two singles and two RBI as the Dodgers topped the Padres 4-2 on Sunday.

Betts didn’t get his fourth straight game with a homer, but he did drive in a run for the fifth straight. He always seems to pick it up against the Padres, the only team besides the Dodgers that showed any interest in trading for him when the Red Sox decided to move on after the 2019 season. His surge ought to continue with games in Sacramento the next three days and then back-to-back home series against the Padres and Rockies afterwards.

Mookie Betts hit a three-run homer Saturday in the blowout of the Padres.

It could have been a better night, as all four balls that Betts put into play were hit hard. However, only his 402-foot homer in the sixth eluded the defense. He’s up to 11 homers to go along with a .230/.292/.440 line in 209 plate appearances.

Mookie Betts went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double on Wednesday against the Twins.

Finally, Betts has shown genuine signs of life. He got the scoring started in this one with a second inning home run off Joe Ryan and both of his hits had at least a 101 mph exit velocity. This was his second straight game with multiple hits and he has a .317/.358/.524 slash line over his last 15 games as he desperately tries to get himself back on track ahead of the midway point this season.

Mookie Betts hit a solo homer while going 3-for-5 win a win for the Dodgers over the Orioles on Friday.

Betts gove the Dodgers to within a run with his solo homer in the eighth inning. The Dodgers would score a pair in the ninth for the comeback victory. That’s now eight homers on the season for the 33-year-old, who is slowly starting to see his numbers crawl after a slow — and injury-riddled — start to the 2026 campaign.

Miguel Rojas hit a go-ahead homer as a pinch-hitter Monday against the Rays.

Rojas made it a 4-3 game in the seventh in his first action since leaving Saturday’s game with a minor shin injury. He later indicated that he could have stayed in that contest, but he thought Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s chances of completing a perfect game would have been better with Santiago Espinal replacing him.

Mookie Betts hit a solo homer and stole a base in a loss to the White Sox on Sunday.

The stolen base was the first of the season for Betts. The homer was the seventh, but it came with the Dodgers trailing 6-2 and with no runners on. Betts is starting to swing the bat better, but his .204/.267/.374 slash leaves a lot to be desired, even before you consider how good Betts has been for the overwhelming majority of his career.

It sounded like Buxton was close to returning after an MRI revealed a hip impingement on Tuesday, but there’s been no real movement. Yankees placed LHP Carlos Rodón on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to 6/30) with left elbow inflammation.

Not great. We’d seen no sign of Rodón being hurt in his last start, so hopefully this is something that just needs to be managed rather than something that could lead to surgery. More updates to come, assuredly. Rodón had a 3.30 ERA in nine starts so far this year, striking out 52 and allowing just 32 hits in 46 1/3 innings pitched.

The Braves just released Rowdy Tellez because they didn’t want a strict DH on their bench, but perhaps McCutchen could work his way up to fill that role because he’s a better runner. He will start out in Triple-A, however.
