Giants activated OF Victor Bericoto from the 10-day injured list.

Bericoto had been shelved since late August due to a bone bruise in his right knee that he suffered after running into the outfield wall in Boston. He’ll replace the injured Nate Furman (oblique) on the Giants’ bench.

Giants placed INF Nate Furman on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to September 16, with a right oblique strain.

The Giants had been hopeful that Furman would be able to play through the issue, but after a couple of days it made more sense to sit him down and let the injury heal properly. Victor Bericoto was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move on Friday night.

Giants placed RHP Logan Webb on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to September 15, with a right middle finger blister.

That will unfortunately end the 29-year-old right-hander’s season prematurely. Webb finishes the 2026 campaign with a 4.31 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a 134/41 K/BB ratio over 160 2/3 innings in his 27 starts. He obviously has plenty of time to overcome the blister issue before the start of the 2027 season.

Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Friday that Jazz Chisholm Jr. (thumb) is doing well and is expected to be activated from the injured list during the team’s upcoming homestand.

Chisholm has been shelved since September 9 due to a right thumb sprain. It sounds like he’s making considerable progress in his recovery though and could only be days away from a return to the Yankees’ lineup.

    Cardinals released INF Ramón Urías.

Urías was designated for assignment on Wednesday and passed through waivers unclaimed. It’s possible that a club in need of a strong utility infielder could scoop him up for the final 10 days of the regular season.
