Jake Bauers told reporters additional imaging revealed that the fracture in his right big toe was from a previous injury.

Bauers added that it’ll merely be a pain management and tolerance issue since he’s not dealing with a new injury. It sounds like there’s a decent chance that he manages to avoid a trip to the injured list, which is an unexpected positive development for the Brewers. The 30-year-old slugger is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Giants with rookie Luis Lara in right field. He should be considered day-to-day moving forward.

Marlins designated INF Leo Jiménez for assignment.

He’s been on the roster almost all year outside of a small stint on the 7-day concussion injured list. It’s been a disastrous run out for the Marlins as he’s hit .199/.306/.259 in 194 plate appearances after coming over from the Blue Jays in the big Dub Gleed trade. The 25-year-old could find himself claimed on waivers.

Marlins recalled 1B/3B Deyvison De Los Santos from Triple-A Jaksonville.

The 23-year-old has a .333/.333/.444 line in nine plate appearances with the Marlins this year. He doesn’t figure to come into immediate everyday playing time but perhaps he can find his way into the lineup if the Marlins drift out of the NL Wild Card race.

Orioles outrighted INF Luis Vázquez to Triple-A Norfolk.

He cleared waivers and will remain in the organization as infield depth.

Mets designated C Shawn Ross for assignment.

He homered in his two-game, five-plate appearance cameo with the Pirates earlier this year and has a .184/.333/.418 batting line in 245 minor-league plate appearances between Triple-A Indianapolis, Triple-A Syracuse, and Double-A Altoona.

Mets claimed RHP Cameron Weston off waivers from the Orioles; optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse.

The 26-year-old has one scoreless inning at the bigs this year and an unsightly 7.89 ERA in 31 appearances (seven starts) for Triple-A Norfolk. He’ll try to turn it around in a new organization.

Mariners outrighted 1B/OF Connor Joe to Triple-A Tacoma.

He has the ability to refuse the assignment if he so chooses. The 34-year-old will be a depth corner player somewhere over the last month of the season, but where that is remains an open question.

Grant Holmes will start for the Braves on Monday.

Bryce Elder, who allowed five runs in 5 1/3 innings on Monday and has a 6.45 ERA over his last four starts, will see his next start pushed back a few days. Given that it was slated to come against the Phillies, that’s probably welcome news for those still relying on Elder.

Pirates recalled RHP Khristian Curtis from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Curtis has pitched eight innings in the bigs this year and given up only two hits while striking out five. The 24-year-old has a 4.90 ERA in 22 appearances (17 starts) between Triple-A Indianapolis and Double-A Altoona. He’ll probably work in long relief for the time being.
