Jake Bauers blasted his 24th home run of the season on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Brewers past the Reds in Cincinnati.
Bauers led off the second inning with a walk, then was picked off of first base. He atoned for that mistake in the fourth inning, crushing a 408-foot (109.8-mph EV) two-run shot off of Brady Singer that pulled the Brewers to within two runs at 4-2. He also walked in the fifth inning and scored on Brice Turang’s two-run double. He also walked and scored in the ninth. Bauers finished the day 1-for-2 plus three walks and is now slashing .270/.395/.493 with 24 long balls and 78 RBI on the season.
