Munetaka Murakami went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, three runs scored, and a walk in a 12 inning, 6-5 win over the Yankees on Wednesday.

This was a candidate for game of the year so far. Down 4-0 before coming up in the first inning, the White Sox hung around, mounted a huge comeback in the eighth, and eked out a win with a walk-off hit in the 12th. Murakami was a huge part of that eighth inning rally hitting back-to-back home runs with Sam Antonacci and tying this game up. He also scampered home as the ghost runner in the 11th when the Yankees tried to back-pick him at third in an awful play. After needing a beat to get his timing back, Murakami now has three home runs and an .888 OPS in 15 games since returning from the injured list. That’s also come with a nearly 41% strikeout rate.

Munetaka Murakami went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, two home runs and six RBI against the Astros on Sunday.

Murakami now has 22 home runs this season. He hit a two-run shot off Ronel Blanco in the first inning and a solo shot off Astros reliever Miguel Ullola in the eighth inning. Murakami’s home run was his first since May 27 against the Twins. Entering play Sunday, he was 8-for-42 (.190) with two RBI, 19 strikeouts and 12 walks in his last 13 games. Murakami’s hitting .239 with a .921 OPS and 48 RBI.

Munetaka Murakami told Baseball America’s James Fegan at the MLB All-Star Game that he wants to remain with the White Sox long-term.

Murakami, who signed a two-year, $34 million contract last offseason, made some noise while speaking to Fegan prior to his first Midsummer Classic appearance by confirming his interest in staying with Chicago long-term. He added that the two sides haven’t begun the process of discussing a potential extension. The 26-year-old first baseman launched 20 homers in his first 57 games before hitting the injured list with a hamstring strain back in late May. He returned for the White Sox’ final three games before the break and looked like himself during the Home Run Derby earlier this week. He’s slated to hit free agency after the 2027 campaign.

Munetaka Murakami will compete in the All-Star Home Run Derby next week.

Murakami went 1-for-5 with a run scored against the injury-riddled Athletics on Friday in his return from the injured list. He struck out four times was one of the few Chicago hitters that didn’t go off during the club’s 14-run explosion. The 26-year-old first baseman will probably need a couple games to knock off some of the rust heading into the second half after missing nearly six weeks with a hamstring strain. He’s put together a phenomenal debut campaign so far, hitting .239/.375/.556 with 20 homers, 42 RBI and one steal through 58 games.

White Sox activated 1B Munetaka Murakami (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list.

This was reported yesterday and is now official. Murakami will return to a .240/.378/.560 slash line with 20 home runs and a 32.5 percent strikeout rate in 57 games. The White Sox can certainly use his power back in the lineup.

MLB.com’s Scott Merkin reports Munetaka Murakami (hamstring) should be back in the White Sox lineup on Friday.

Murakami, who has been out since late May, has played two straight games in Triple-A Charlotte. If this report is true, Murakami would get a handful of at-bats this weekend before the All-Star Break hits. Merkin speculates that Jacob Gonzalez being demoted would seem “the likely move.”

Murakami has gone 2-for-7 in a pair of rehab contests since kicking off a rehab assignment earlier this week. He figures to make it back to Chicago’s lineup at some point later this week. He’s been out with a hamstring strain since late May.

Murakami will kick off a rehab stint with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday with the goal of returning to Chicago prior to next week’s All-Star break. The 26-year-old rookie slugger should only require a handful of minor-league tune-up contests to get back up to speed. He’s been out with a hamstring strain since late May. Fantasy managers should plan to have Murakami back in the mix by the end of the week and he should be a full-go coming out of the Midsummer Classic.

White Sox manager Will Venable said Munetaka Murakami (hamstring) took on-field batting practice on Thursday and is close to starting a minor league rehab assignment.

Venable didn’t offer an exact timeline for Murakami to kick off a rehab assignment, adding that he’ll need to run the bases before he’s officially cleared. The original expectation was that he would miss 4-6 weeks after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring strain back in late May. The fact that he’s progressed to on-field hitting means he’s getting close to game action again. There should be a definitive update on his status in the coming days. Fantasy managers should anticipate Murakami making it back to Chicago sometime around this month’s All-Star break.

White Sox manager Will Venable said that Munetaka Murakami (hamstring) is “getting up to 80 percent in his running” and “increasing the intensity of the hitting.”

Venable also said that the first baseman would get into rehab games as soon as he felt 100 percent. We may be another couple of weeks away from that, which means there is a chance Murakami is playing rehab games by July and could return just before the All-Star break.

Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Twins have reached an agreement to acquire left-hander A.J. Minter from the Mets.

Let the fire sale begin. Will Sammon of The Athletic adds that the Mets will receive minor leaguers Bruin Agbayani and Billy Amick back in return for Minter. The 32-year-old southpaw has been terrific for the Mets this season, posting a 2.35 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and a 20/2 K/BB ratio over 23 innings in 23 appearances. His arrival will go a long way towards bolstering the Twins’ bullpen.

Robert then smacked a single into left field that plated both of them, proving to be the difference in the ballgame. He finished the night 1-for-4 and is now slashing a disappointing .202/.300/.333 with four homers, 12 RBI and two stolen bases in his first 130 plate appearances with the Mets.

As always, Williams made things interesting in the ninth inning by allowing a leadoff walk to Heriberto Hernandez. He battled back though to strike out Griffin Conine and Jakob Marsee before getting Javier Sanoja to pop out to second base to end it. Williams continues to bring his ratios down as the season progresses, now sporting a still unsavory 4.29 ERA and 1.63 WHIP to go with his 16 saves in 19 attempts.
