Kohl Drake surrendered three runs and six hits in 3 2/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Padres.

It could have been even worse, considering Drake had long flies of 408 and 403 feet turned into outs. Drake allowed one run in five innings against the A’s in his major league debut last month, but his three turns since have seen him pitch a total of 11 2/3 innings and give up nine runs. He might be replaced next time through if the D-backs decide Michael Soroka is ready to come off the IL. If not, he’ll have a chance to impress at home against the Rockies.

Drake threw 82 pitches over 3 2/3 innings of ineffective baseball against the Padres on Thursday, giving up three runs on six hits. They’ll figure out how to replace his spot in the rotation the next time that it comes around while adding a fresh arm to their bullpen in the meantime on Friday in Kade Strowd.

Kohl Drake gave up two runs in four innings and got a no-decision in the Diamondbacks’ 12-8 victory over the Guardians on Saturday.

Drake gave up five hits, walked one and struck out six. Making just his third major league start, Drake was solid in his four innings. He allowed two runs, but struck out six batters. Drake isn’t quite a recommended fantasy starter, but this was a step in the right direction. He’s lined up to face the Padres at home on Thursday.

Kohl Drake received a no-decision on Sunday in Washington, allowing four earned runs on five hits over four innings pitched.

Drake struck out one, walked two, and allowed two homers as Arizona went on to lose 10-7. He was making his second start with the big-league club this season, a tough assignment against the highest-scoring lineup in the league and on the road. Drake struggled at Triple-A this spring and is off the fantasy radar ahead of his next start in Cleveland.

Drake was impressive in his MLB debut on Tuesday. He tossed two scoreless innings, then gave up one run on two hits in the third. The 26-year-old right-hander gave the Diamondbacks two more scoreless frames, giving up just the one run over five while collecting five strikeouts. Drake will look to follow the impressive outing in a road start against the Nationals on Sunday.

Drake will make his major-league debut with a start against the Athletics on Tuesday at Chase Field. The 26-year-old lefty was up briefly last month, but didn’t get into a game for Arizona. He doesn’t offer a ton of strikeout upside, which makes him a risky streaming option for fantasy managers right out of the gate.

Drake is one of the better pitching prospects in Arizona’s system and will get his first shot in the majors after posting an inflated 7.83 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 48/26 K/BB ratio across 54 innings for Triple-A Reno this season. The 25-year-old southpaw has operated as a traditional starter throughout his development, but is likely to pitch in relief as he acclimates to the big leagues. He came over with top pitching prospect David Hagaman from the Rangers in the Merrill Kelly trade last July.

Vukovich and Ryan Waldschmidt to minor league camp.

The most interesting name among this batch of cuts for the Diamondbacks is Ryan Waldschmidt. He had started to gain some steam in fantasy circles as a sleeper candidate, but he was always facing an uphill battle at earning a spot on the Diamondbacks’ Opening Day roster. The 23-year-old hit .240 (6-for-25) with one homer, five RBI and one stolen base during Cactus League play. He should get an opportunity with the Snakes at some point in 2026.

Drake allowed five hits, struck out two and didn’t walk a batter. The 25-year-old has had mixed results over the spring, and wasn’t terribly likely to make the Diamondbacks out of spring training, anyway He is a name to moniter in keeper leagues, but can safely be ignored — for now — in redraft formats.

Drake issued a pair of walks, and one of those free passes came around to score in the first inning off a fielder’s choice. Acquired in the deal that sent Merrill Kelly to Texas, Drake is one of the best pitching prospects in the Arizona system, and if he can throw consistent strikes, he has a chance to be a fantasy-relevant starter in the coming years.

Rutschman caught five innings today.

The double was hit 104 mph off Lee Trivino. Worcester ended up beating Lehigh Valley 19-0, so the Rutschman acquisition is already paying off for Boston. It’s unclear if he’ll play again tomorrow.
