Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a homer and three runs scored in a win over the Nationals on Tuesday.

Bregman continues to swing a hot stick after his disappointing first half with the Cubbies, and he was able to reach three times with a homer, single and walk in this contest. He came into Tuesday’s contest with just a .712 OPS in the month of August, but he’s driving the ball much more consistently than he was in the first few months of the season. Don’t be surprised if Bregman continues to roll through the final two months and finishes among the better fantasy third baseman in 2026.

Alex Bregman went 3-for-3 with three home runs, seven RBI and two walks against the Nationals on Wednesday.

All three of Bregman’s home runs came off Nationals relievers. His first home run was a three-run shot in the fifth inning before he added two-run home runs in the sixth and eighth innings. Bregman is now 26-for-67 (.388) with six home runs, 17 RBI, 19 runs scored and a stolen base over his last 16 games. Still in the middle of perhaps his worst hitting season in his career, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Bregman’s bat were to stay hot for the final two months of the season.

Alex Bregman went 3-for-6 with two RBI and a run scored as the Cubs defeated the Royals 10-2 on Sunday afternoon.

Bregman accounted for three of the 18 hits Chicago totaled in Kansas City, continuing his productive second half. He has yet to get blistering hot, but his recent play has been an improvement over a below-average first half. Bregman remains an everyday player batting in the heart of one of baseball’s highest-scoring lineups, and the counting stats have added up to strong fantasy production lately.

Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 and hit a game-tying two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday as the Cubs edged the Blue Jays 3-2 in 11 innings.

Pete-Crow Armstrong scored the winning run on a throwing error that took place while he was stealing third in the 11th. Bregman’s dramatic homer came with two outs in the ninth and resulted in Louis Varland’s first blown save of the year. The surge isn’t fully backed up by his exit velocity numbers, but Bregman is hitting .299 with five homers and nine doubles in his last 21 games. He also stole a base today, giving him three that season. That matches his high total since 2019.

Alex Bregman delivered a go-ahead RBI double in the 10th inning on Thursday, leading the Cubs to a 4-2 victory over the Cardinals in St. Louis.

Bregman smacked a one-out double off of Andre Pallante in the fourth inning and scored the Cubs’ first run on an error by Lars Nootbaar. He then poked an RBI double into right field off of Luis Gastelum to give the Cubs the lead in the 10th before scoring on Ian Happ’s RBI double. The 32-year-old third baseman is now hitting .248/.341/.381 with 11 home runs, 47 RBI and a pair of stolen bases in his first 487 plate appearances with the Cubs.

Alex Bregman went 3-for-5 and scored twice while helping the Cubs to a 10-2 rout of the Cardinals on Tuesday.

One day after picking up four hits against the Cardinals, Bregman added three more in a blowout victory for the Cubs. The 32-year-old doubled — his 18th of the season — and singled twice, while improving his season line to .245/.339/.374 in his first season with the Cubbies. That’s still nowhere close to what Bregman and Chicago were hoping for when they signed the infielder to his massive deal, but it’s beyond possible we’ll see more efforts like this from Bregman over the final two-plus months. He’s too good a hitter to have a slash that poor.

Alex Bregman went 4-for-5 with a homer, two doubles and four RBI against the Cardinals on Monday.

It’s the first four-hit game and second four-RBI game for Bregman this year, but it wasn’t quite as encouraging as it sounds; the homer left his bat at a mere 97 mph and the two doubles were a 93-mph grounder and a 67-mph fly down the right field line. It was sufficient to bump his OPS up to .705. The last time he finished a game over .700 was on May 31, a day that also saw him hit a homer against the Cardinals.

Alex Bregman is absent from the Cubs’ starting lineup for Sunday afternoon’s contest against the Pirates.

Bregman has really been scuffling at the plate over the past month, slashing .186/.298/.353 with four homers and 19 RBI over 121 plate appearances in his last 26 games. Perhaps taking a day off to clear his head will do him some good. Pedro Ramirez will man the hot corner in his absence and will bat eighth against Braxton Ashcraft and the Pirates on Sunday afternoon at PNC Park.

Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a win for the Cubs on Sunday over the Twins.

Bregman made it 2-0 Cubs in the first inning off a completely ineffective Zebby Matthews. That’s the 10th homer for Bregman in his first season with the Cubs, and he’s now driven in 43 runs. He also drew a walk, and it improves his slash to a still-disappointing .239/.336/.362.

Alex Bregman went 1-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run against the Reds on Saturday.

Bregman’s home run was his eighth of the season. He hit a two-run shot off Reds reliever Julian Garcia. It’s Bregman’s second home run in his last 10 games. He’s hitting .236 with a .678 OPS and 37 RBI with one game left before the All-Star break.

There was little Bregman or any other member of the Cubs lineup could do after trailing by 11 runs by the time they came to bat in the fourth inning. Alas, Bregman is trying to get his season on track. His double was just his sixth extra-base hit since the beginning of June as he’s trapped in a power outage.

The Cincinnati Enquirer’s Gordon Wittenmyer reports that Hunter Greene underwent Tommy John surgery on Wednesday and will be out for the next 12-18 months.

That means Greene will miss the entirety of the 2027 season (if there is one) after being limited to just 27 2/3 innings this year. The right-hander will be 28 years old when he next steps foot on an MLB mound, so there remains plenty of time left for him to return to his prior form. However, this was his second Tommy John surgery, which has historically been a tough hurdle for pitchers to overcome when it comes to getting back to their previous peak performance.

Nationals RHP prospect Jarlin Susana threw two shutout innings for High-A Wilmington on Wednesday.

Susana had lat surgery in September of last year and has just begun his rehab assignment. His command was a bit iffy, walking two in the outing, but he also struck out two and touched 103 mph on the radar gun, which is great to see after such a long layoff. The oft-injured 22-year-old was at Double-A when his injuries began last year, so he may return there early in 2026 or perhaps get a chance to start the year at Triple-A.

Blaze Alexander (hand) was doing pre-game fielding drills on Wednesday.

Alexander has been on the injured list since July 16th, when he suffered a fractured left hand after being hit by a pitch. The fielding drills obviously involved him fielding balls with his glove hand, which is his left hand, and even though they weren’t hit hard off the bat, it’s a nice step in the right direction. There is still no stated timeline for his return.

Jenkins has been producing consistently since the middle of July, but he’s now 13-for-35 (.371) in August with two home runs, four RBI, five runs scored, and three steals. If the Twins are really making a run at the postseason, they should probably give him a shot in the outfield.

Jones has plenty of power, so hitting him in the middle of the lineup makes sense. However, in 17 games since the All-Star break, he’s also hitting .196 with a 25.4 percent strikeout rate, 17.2 percent swinging strike rate, and 68 percent contact rate. The power and solid walk rate have given him a usable .756 OPS, but he remains a risky bet given his contact profile.
