Ben Malgeri recorded the first multi-homer game of his MLB career on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough to power the Tigers past the visiting White Sox.
Malgeri got the Tigers on the board and briefly gave them a 2-1 advantage with his 375-foot (100.5-mph EV) two-run shot off of Jose Urquidy in the second inning. He then greeted Huascar Brazoban by crushing a first-pitch sinker for a 372-foot (105.7-mph EV) solo shot in the seventh that trimmed the Tigers’ deficit to 8-4. He finished the night 2-for-4 and is now hitting a solid .283/.391/.491 with three homers and 10 RBI in his first 64 plate appearances with the Tigers.
