Orioles outright Albert Suárez to Triple-A

Verlander is attempting to make it back for the final start of his Hall of Fame career at Comerica Park against the Pirates next weekend. The 43-year-old icon is scheduled to throw another bullpen session early next week to determine whether he’s ready to take the ball one final time before hanging up his spikes. He’s been out with hip and hamstring issues since early April.

Peters is officially day-to-day, according to the White Sox. It doesn’t sound like he underwent any precautionary imaging after running full speed into the outfield wall during the fifth inning of Friday’s eventual loss to Detroit. The 26-year-old breakout sensation is presumably going to get a couple days off to rest and recover after the collision.

Suarez hasn’t pitched for Atlanta since mid-June due to a forearm strain. The 35-year-old’s return would provide a much-needed bridge to closer Raisel Iglesias for the playoff-bound Braves. He’ll likely require a handful of rehab outings before the club decides on his next steps, but he figures to be ready for the postseason.

Walcott made a massive impact during the RoughRiders’ postseason run, which came to an end on Friday night, going 4-for-11 with one homer and four steals in their three-game playoff series. The -year-old prodigy missed most of the year after undergoing elbow surgery back in the spring, but looked like one of the top fantasy prospects in the game after returning, hitting .329/.404/.608 with 10 homers and 12 steals in 39 games.

It was Vasil’s first time throwing since undergoing Tommy John surgery back in late March. The 26-year-old reliever is at the outset of his throwing progression and is likely to miss a good portion of next season while working his way back.

Means is working his way back from offseason surgery after rupturing his Achilles last December. The 33-year-old veteran southpaw spent all of last season rehabbing from Tommy John surgery with the Guardians. The encouraging news here is that he figures to be ready for the start of spring training and could be in the mix for a spot in Kansas City’s rotation.

Susana is one of the hardest-throwing starting pitching prospects in the game and he displayed his premium velocity in his first Triple-A outing, topping out at 102.6 mph in the 66-pitch effort. The electrifying 22-year-old is one of the better fantasy prospects in the game solely because his strikeout upside is off the metaphorical charts if everything comes together. Susana remains a work in progress after missing significant time due to injury in each of the last two seasons. He’s the caliber of pitching prospect that fantasy managers need to follow closely as he continues his trajectory towards Washington’s rotation.

It would be fascinating to see Davidson get a cup of coffee with San Francisco in the final week of the regular season after starting the year in Double-A as a relative unknown outside of the prospect and dynasty community. The 24-year-old is the extremely rare undrafted player that turns into a legitimate prospect and has torn the cover off the ball this season, slashing .284/.353/.523 with 29 homers and 19 steals in 536 plate appearances in the upper minors. He offers an interesting set of fantasy-relevant tools and is a name that fantasy managers should be watching closely next spring.

Kuroda-Grauer is unlikely to return to the majors before the regular season concludes, but he’s expected to have a normal offseason and be a full-go at the outset of spring training. That’s the most positive outcome after undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured testicle back in late July. He should factor into the Athletics’ infield mix next spring.

Santander took a couple games off earlier this week due to lower back discomfort. He’s technically in the mix for a postseason roster spot, if Toronto makes it that far, but he’s barely played over the last two years due to shoulder issues. He’s more of a complete Wild Card as opposed to a sure thing at this stage of his career.
