Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed one hit over seven innings in the Dodgers’ 4-0 shutout of the Reds on Tuesday.

Yamamoto gave up two walks in the first and an Elly De La Cruz double in the third, retiring the other 21 batters he faced. He struck out seven. Yamamoto is 14-8 with a 2.51 ERA in 179 innings this season, which is pretty close to his 12-8 record and 2.49 ERA from 173 2/3 innings last year. The big differences are that his strikeout rate has dropped from 29.4 percent last year to 26 percent this year, but also that he’s upped his efficiency; those 179 innings have come in 28 starts this year, whereas he needed 30 to throw 173 2/3 innings last year. He’ll likely make his next start Tuesday against the Padres.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched seven innings of one-run ball and struck out 10 in a win over the Reds on Wednesday.

The lone run came on Elly De La Cruz’s homer in the fourth. Yamamoto allowed only two other hits and walked one in the 90-pitch gem. He currently ranks second in the majors with a 0.88 WHIP, trailing only Jacob Misiorowski at 0.80. He’ll pitch in Cincinnati next time out.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto surrendered four runs over seven innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Cardinals.

Leo Bernal’s two-run homer in the seventh made this just the fourth time this year that Yamamoto has given up four runs and only the third time he’s allowed four earned runs. He did leave with a one-run lead anyway, but it didn’t hold up in what turned into an extra-inning loss. Yamamoto finished up with eight strikeouts, making this four straight starts in which he’s totaled eight or nine. He’ll face the Reds next week.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched well in a tough-luck loss against the Dodgers on Thursday evening, allowing just one run on four hits over 6 1/3 innings.

The 28-year-old right-hander racked up eight strikeouts on the night while issuing one base on balls. The lone tally against him — and the only run scored by either team — came on a solo blast off the bat of Drake Baldwin in the opening inning. Unfortunately for Yamamoto and for fantasy managers, that was enough to do him in on Thursday. He got a whopping 20 swings and misses on 105 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 30 percent. Now 12-8 on the season, he’ll carry a 2.56 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and a 153/36 K/BB ratio (158 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the Cardinals.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed just two runs while striking out nine over 6 1/3 innings, but didn’t qualify for a decision Friday against the Pirates.

Yamamoto left with a 4-2 lead, but he doesn’t get the win — even though the Dodgers did — because the Los Angeles bullpen couldn’t hold that cushion. The 28-year-old has whiffed 21 hitters over his last two outings, and his ERA is now a healthy 2.61 on the season. Yamamoto has established himself as one of the very best hurlers in baseball, and he’ll look to continue the good run next weekend against the Tigers in Detroit.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched six innings of one-run ball Friday in a win over the Brewers.

Yamamoto struck out nine and sported a 37 percent CSW. It’s the 11th time in 22 starts this year that he’s allowed one or no runs. He’ll make his next start on six days’ rest next Friday versus the Pirates.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto didn’t allow a run over 5 2/3 innings and still didn’t come away with a decision versus the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

It was not an efficient start for Yamamoto, as he needed 107 pitches to get his 17 outs, and he walked three. It was still an effective one — as it usually is for the 27-year-old — that saw him allow just three hits and strike out six while lowering his ERA to 2.65. Yamamoto will look to keep this going — and work a smidgen deeper into the game — next weekend against the Brewers.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto surrendered three runs in eight innings to take a tough loss Saturday against the Red Sox.

Yamamoto gave up just two hits through seven, but both were homers off the bat of Ceddanne Rafaela. He then allowed a double and a bunt single to start the eighth, with the go-ahead run scoring on a double play afterwards. The loss leaves him 11-7 with a 2.76 ERA. His next start will be his third of the year against the Diamondbacks. He beat them on Opening Day, but he had his worst start of the season last time he faced them, giving up six runs on July 11.

The Dodgers will have Eduardo Henriquez open a bullpen game Friday against the Red Sox.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Emmet Sheehan will start Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Henriquez made a brief appearance Thursday, retiring one of the three Mariners he faced in the seventh inning. He probably won’t pitch more than inning against Boston.

Yamamoto allowed five hits, walked three and struck out five in earning his 11th victory. It was his 15th quality start, which is tied with Sandy Alcantara for most in the majors. He’ll face the Red Sox for the first time next weekend.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched his first MLB regular-season complete game as the Dodgers bested the Yankees 8-2 in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader.

Yamamoto, who did throw two complete games in the postseason last year, allowed four hits, walked none and struck out seven in a 102-pitch masterpiece. He gave up a homer to Trent Grisham in the fourth. The other run came in the eighth after center fielder Andy Pages lost Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s flyball in the sun for a double, and Anthony Volpe followed with an RBI single. Yamamoto is the first pitcher to throw a complete game against the Yankees since Sandy Alcantara on Aug. 12, 2023. He’ll take a 10-6 record and a 2.78 ERA into his next outing against the Mets.

Curtis Mead (wrist) took live batting practice against Garrett Crochet on Tuesday.

Over the weekend, Mead started hitting off a tee, but it seems that he progressed enough to face live pitching on Tuesday. Crochet, who is working back from a shoulder injury, threw to Ceddanne Rafaela (hamstring) and also Mead. The left-hander touched 96 mph and was sitting in the low 90s, so Mead was able to see and hit velocity. There is no word on how the session went or how Mead felt after it, but the fact that he has progressed to this stage makes it possible that he could return in time for the postseason.
