Brayan Bello allowed one run with 11 strikeouts over eight innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.

Bello had allowed two baserunners through three scoreless innings before giving up a solo homer to Jonathan Aranda to lead off the bottom of the fourth. He bounced back with four more scoreless frames, giving the Red Sox eight innings of one-run ball in what was his best outing of the season. The 27-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 4.49 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and a 90/35 K/BB ratio across 112 1/3 innings. Saturday’s effort might have earned him another start before the end of the season as the team tries to keep its rotation fresh for the postseason.

Brayan Bello will start Saturday’s game against the Rays.

Bello draws the starting assignment for Saturday’s game against the Rays with Payton Tolle apparently being skipped in the rotation in an effort to manage his workload and set up Boston’s rotation for the postseason. Obviously, Bello has had more success coming out of the bullpen as opposed to being used as a traditional starter. Still, this is a decent spot for fantasy purposes in pitcher-friendly Tropicana Field.

Brayan Bello, who pitched five scoreless innings Monday against the Angels, isn’t currently slated for another start.

Bello will be available as a long man out of the pen tonight. The Red Sox will stick with a five-man rotation for now and start Patrick Sandoval, Jake Bennett and Sonny Gray against the Rangers next week.

Brayan Bello allowed four hits in five shutout innings in a win over the Angels on Monday.

Bello also walked two and struck out seven while throwing 60 percent of his pitches for strikes and posting a 12 percent swinging strike rate. Bello threw just 60 percent of his sinkers for strikes, and getting ahead with his fastballs has been a continuous issue for him. However, Bello’s sweeper was electric in this one, posting a 26 percent swinging strike rate and a 44 percent CSW. He’s never had marks that high while also throwing his sweeper over 20 percent of the time. It was a nice start for Bello, who could work in some relief capacity over the weekend as well.

The Red Sox are planning to start Brayan Bello against the Angels on Monday.

It’ll be Bello’s first start since he was recalled just before the All-Star break. He since has a 2.95 ERA over 36 2/3 innings in 10 relief appearances, though eight of the 12 earned runs he’s allowed have come in his last two outings.

Brayan Bello was hit hard in Wednesday’s relief appearance against the Mariners, allowing four earned runs on seven hits over three innings pitched.

Bello gave up two walks and didn’t strike anyone out. He threw 94 pitches on Saturday, so the turnaround might’ve been a little quick. Until recently, he had one of the best ERAs among all relievers, but he’s now been hit hard twice in a row. He wasn’t that efficient in the outing before those either. Bello won’t pitch again until Sunday at the earliest, but fantasy managers might not want to rely on streaming him for ratios.

Bello gave up five hits, walked one and struck out two. He fell to 5-7 with the loss. Bello entered in the second inning with one out following an opener. He had been pitching well in August with a 1.72 ERA in five appearances this month entering play Saturday. Bello has a 4.85 ERA this year. He’s not currently scheduled for an upcoming appearance.

Brayan Bello allowed one run in 4 2/3 innings and got the win in the Red Sox’ 11- victory over the Diamondbacks on Monday.

Bello gave up three hits, walked one and struck out three. He improved to 5-6 with the win. Bello was the bulk pitcher for Boston behind opener Alec Gamboa, who pitch 1 1/3 innings. Bello hasn’t technically started a game since June 4 against the Orioles, but he threw 76 pitches Monday, showing he’s still stretched out for a starter’s workload. He has a 4.69 ERA and isn’t lined up for another appearance currently.

The Red Sox will start Alec Gamboa, with Brayan Bello expected to follow, in Monday’s game against the Diamondbacks.

Bello has been excelling out of the pen, so the Red Sox won’t mess with what’s working by having him start. Given that the bulk role makes him a better bet for a win, Bello is a streaming option tomorrow. Unfortunately, he probably won’t get a second bulk appearance, with the Red Sox having Thursday off, but maybe he’ll make another lengthy relief appearance next weekend if Patrick Sandoval is shaky again.

The Red Sox termed this a bullpen game, but Erik Miller essentially functioned as an opener before Bello came in to start the second. Bello struck out four and walked none before leaving in line for the win. That didn’t hold up, though. Bello probably won’t be available to pitch again until Thursday.

Brayan Bello recorded his first career save for pitching three perfect innings against the White Sox on Tuesday.

Bello needed just 28 pitches to get nine outs to finish off a 14-2 game. He’s certainly making a case for getting more work in close games while having allowed only one run in 16 2/3 innings over four appearances since returning to the majors on July 12. But at least he’s taking some pressure off Boston’s bullpen as is.

It was the Brewers’ 98th win, breaking the franchise record they set last year. Both of Pratt’s singles came on liners to the outfield. Each was hit at a 17-degree launch angle, and that he projected distances of 277 and 278 feet, respectively. Pratt is batting .282/.350/.371 in 249 major league plate appearances. That average is 40 points better than his mark in Triple-A prior to his callup in June.

The outing lowered his ERA ever so slightly to 1.86. He’s expected to go longer Saturday against the Cardinals and then make a Game 1 start in the NLDS.

Though the White Sox had a 4-0 lead, they employed a very quick hook with Martin today. Part of the reasoning is that they’re looking at an off day Monday. Martin has allowed just two earned runs over 20 1/3 innings in his last four outings, though the previous three of those all turned into White Sox losses anyway. They did win today, but since he didn’t complete five innings, Martin couldn’t get the credit. Martin should be worth using in mixed leagues with a home start against the Rockies on the schedule for next weekend.
