Andrew Abbott allowed six hits and two runs with one walk and six strikeouts over seven innings in a no-decision against the Braves on Wednesday.
A welcome change from his recent starts and season in general, Abbott was fantastic here. The only two runs he allowed came via solo home runs by Matt Olson and Austin Riley, but the Braves rarely threatened otherwise. Overall, it was a season to forget for Abbott with a 4.61 ERA after pitching to a 3.42 mark in his career before the year began. Just to give a sense of how rare this outing was, it was Abbott’s first time completing seven innings in 2026. Better late than never.
