Cubs designated RHP Shane Greene for assignment.
Greene pitched just once in his five days with the Cubs, throwing a scoreless inning Sunday. It’s the only major league appearance this season for the former Tigers closer.

Jasson Domínguez left Thursday’s game in the first inning after crashing into the wall while making a catch.
Domínguez slammed into the wall making a terrific play and then fell face-first to the ground. He appeared to injure his left shoulder, which was the first part of him to make contact with the wall, and he also seemed dazed afterwards, which led to the Yankees choosing to have him carted off. Ryan McMahon replaced him in the game, with Amed Rosario moving from third to the outfield.
Can Okamoto turn hot streak into consistency?
Kazuma Okamoto is scorching the ball. What does that mean for his long-term fantasy abseball outlook?
  • MIN 3rd Baseman #23
Royce Lewis is on the bench for a second straight game Thursday against the Nationals.
Lewis is hitting .169/.270/.312 with a 30 percent strikeout rate that’s much higher than usual. He’ll probably be back in the lineup Friday, but if this lasts much longer, a Triple-A stint could be in order. Tristan Gray is playing third base today.
  • KC Catcher #13
Salvador Perez is likely to be limited to DH duties this weekend because of a sore hip.
Perez hasn’t caught since Friday, but he’s started every game since, and he’s likely to stay in the lineup this weekend. The Royals are already carrying a third catcher in Elias Diaz, and he’ll probably get one start over Carter Jensen in the series against the Tigers.
  • CHC Relief Pitcher #46
Cubs recalled RHP Gavin Hollowell from Triple-A Iowa.
Hollowell is getting his first callup of 2026 after posting a 2.25 ERA and a 15/6 K/BB in eight innings for Iowa. The 28-year-old made seven appearances for the Cubs last year, amassing a 4.82 ERA and a 10/7 K/BB in 9 1/3 innings.
  • CHC Relief Pitcher #38
Cubs designated RHP Corbin Martin for assignment.
Martin succeeded in his one save chance for the Cubs, but he allowed six runs and walked five in five innings over seven appearances. He’s out of options, so he should be available on waivers in a few days.
  • TEX Designated Hitter #3
Joc Pederson is making his first outfield start since 2023 in Thursday’s game against the Yankees.
Pederson has been available as a backup first baseman the last couple of seasons, but he doesn’t even travel with an outfielder’s glove any longer and he’s having to borrow Alejandro Osuna’s today. He’s needed in the outfield because Brandon Nimmo remains limited to DH duties by his hamstring problem. It could be a short day for Pederson. Paul Blackburn doesn’t figure to go long for Texas, and Pederson will likely be replaced once a lefty comes into the game.
  • MIA Left Fielder #13
Marlins recalled OF Heriberto Hernández from Triple-A Jacksonville.
It’s the first day Hernández was eligible to return from his Apr. 27 demotion. He played in five games for Jacksonville, going 6-for-22 with two doubles and only one strikeout. He figures to resume playing mostly against lefties.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher
Marlins selected the contract of RHP Stephen Jones from Double-A Pensacola.
It’s the first time in the majors for the 28-year-old Jones, who had a 3.24 ERA despite walking 13 in 16 2/3 innings for Pensacola. He might be up for just one day until Robby Snelling is added on Friday.
  • MIA 3rd Baseman #21
Marlins optioned 3B Graham Pauley to Triple-A Jacksonville.
The Marlins showed a surprising amount of faith in Pauley going into the season, but he hit just .173/.225/.293 in 81 plate appearances, and his exit velocity numbers are so poor that Statcast actually thinks he’s fortunate to have that line. He might get another look later, but there’s little reason to think he’s going to turn into a quality major leaguer. The Marlins will likely go with Connor Norby and Javier Sanoja at third base for now, opening up more time for Christopher Morel at first.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #90
Marlins optioned LHP Dax Fulton to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Fulton threw four innings and allowed two runs against the Orioles in his one day with the Marlins. He’s being swapped out for a fresh arm now, but he might get a real look out of the pen at some point. An opportunity in the rotation will be harder to come by.
